Kraft Tree

This is the first time I have ever used SU!'s Kraft paper. Crazy I know but I just never thought of actuallY purchasing it. Until I saw this card on Andrea Waldford's blog. Than I was dying to get my hands on kraft paper. This card is a complete CASE but I couldn't help myself. :-) I now have lots of ideas floating around my head of ways to use my new Kraft paper...

RECIPE: CS-Kraft Paper & Old Olive; Stamps-Lovely As a Tree & Heard From the Heart; Ink-Chocolate Chip & Craft White.

My Personal Christmas Cards

After all the slack I got last year for sending out store-bought Christmas cards (horrible I know but I was very sick with my last pregnancy) I have decided to go handmade this year. I wasn't going to share my cards until a little closer to Christmas but I thought it might give someone an idea for their Christmas cards so here it is...

Since I am inserting a family photo and a newsletter I didn't want to add to the bulk (and postage) by adding a bunch of embellishments. I did trace some of the tree's swirls with the two-way glue pen and added some Dazzling Diamonds just to glam it up a bit.

RECIPE: DSP-Ski Slope; CS-Real Red, Baja Breeze, Whisper White & Old Olive; Stamps-Snow Swirled; Ink-Chocolate Chip, Real Red, & Old Olive; Punches-Wide Oval Punch and Embellishments-Dazzling Diamonds & Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon.

Stamping Family

What can I say? A family that Stamps together, stays together!! Here is my mom, Lyn, sister-in-law, Kim, and brother, Michael, all working diligently to help my Mom finish her Christmas cards.

Here is the design my mom chose...

This card was based off of a card by Lynda Glassmoyer. My mom fell in love with it as soon as she saw it and knew that she had to CASE it. She made 38 of them. Thank goodness for the Big Shot which made cutting out all of those Top Notes so much easier. Can you imagine doing that by hand?

We have a couple more Christmas Card Family Marathons planned over the next couple of weeks. This was we can all get our Christmas cards done and have fun with each other at the same time.

RECIPE: CS-Whisper White & Brushed Silver; Stamps-Heard from the Heart & Lovely As a Tree; Ink-Encore Silver; Dies-Bigz Top Note; and Ribbon-White Taffeta.

Demonstrator Shoebox Swap & Brunch

Today was our Whidbey Demonstrator Quarterly Brunch and Shoebox Swap. It was so much fun and wonderful catching up with each other. We enjoyed stamping and laughing together.

Here are a few of us: Rebecca Jung (my upline), Aubrie, and Lynda Glassmoyer was there as well (but my picture of her turned out all blurry) and my sister-in-law, Kim, was there as my guest. She is holding my beautiful baby girl (who is a future stamper in training)!

We made so many great projects...

Here's Becca's Swap! Very fun!! I am loving the Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon.

This card was Aubrie's creation. I love the colors-Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze and a touch of silver. Very festive!

This is Lynda's stocking. How cute!! My daughter fell in love with this project as soon as she saw it.

I made a swap to share as well but I am not going to share it until later. I have decided to use it as one of our projects this month for Stamp Club. Since I don't want to give away what we are doing and want to keep you all in suspense, you will just have to wait to see the card that I did.

It was a great morning full of fun, creative ideas, stamping and motivation. I can't wait for our next demonstrator meeting next month!!

Fabulous Purses

I have seen lots of cards with these little purses on them so I don't know where the original idea came from. I always thought they were so cute but never actually tried one. I thought it would be a fun card to make for Ladies Stamping Night Out. My husband calls me a "bag lady" because I have a bag for everything (well sometimes 2 or 3 bags for everything). All the ladies liked this card and I have someone very special in mind for this card.

RECIPE: CS-Whisper White, Basic Black & Tempting Turquoise; Stamp-Absolutely Fabulous; Ink-Tempting Turquoise; Punches-Round Tab, Large Oval & Wide Oval; Embellishments-Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Ice Circle Rhinestone Brads, Silver Eyelets, Silver Brads; and Tools-Crop-a-Dile.

Classy Cupcakes

Here is the last card sample I have from Ladies Stamping Night Out. We did make one more card, featured here. I LOVE this card! It is so simple, classy and elegant. I also like this color combination. My all time favorite SU! color is Chocolate Chip, it is so versatile. Black can feel so harsh but browns are so warm and inviting.

It is hard to tell in the picture but after I watercolored the image I added a few details. I used a white gel pen to add a bit of dimension to the cupcakes and the cups. I also used Crystal Effects on the cherries, to give them some shine, and to the cupcake stand, to give it a glassy look.

RECIPE: DPS-Bella Rose; CS-Kiwi Kiss & Red Riding Hood; Stamp-Crazy for Cupcakes; Ink-Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip & Red Riding Hood; Ribbon-Chocolate Chip Grosgrain; Punches-Scallop Edge and Embellishments-Crystal Effects.

Decor Elements Experiment

As you all know, Stampin' Up! released its new product line-Decor Elements. These are great vinyl images, letters and shapes that can go on most walls in your home, glass, wood and other things. The images coordinate beautifully with our already fantastic stamp images to make home decor a breeze. I have been trying to decided which one of these great images to get and where to put it. I placed a rather large order a few weeks ago that qualified for Level 2 hostess benefits. One of the perks was a Decor Element image available in White, Chocolate Chip or Black. I chose the Chocolate Chip.

Today I finally found the perfect place to put it. On my dining room wall. This is where I hold all of my stamping events so I thought it was the perfect place to put up one of our Decor Elements. Plus I love the saying--"Home is Built of Love and Dreams". A very fitting saying for one of the busiest rooms in our house.

I must admit, I was pretty intimidated about the whole process, especially since my six-year old was helping me. But it was so easy and it took less than ten-minutes from start to finish. The end result is a beautiful image that enhances my dining room beautifully. This is how to apply Decor Elements.

I know it looks really crooked in this picture but it is not crooked on my wall. I think the angle of the camera is why it looks so messed up.

These images would make some great Christmas Gifts for a couple of friends of mine....Hmmm!

You can have this image as well if you hose a workshop with orders totaling above $300. Call or e-mail me and we will plan your workshop now! I am gearing up for Holiday Workshops now so pick your date before my schedule fills up!

Catching the Cupcake Craze!

I just got this fabulous new stamp set "Crazy for Cupcakes". As soon as I saw this in the catalog I knew that I had to have it. It is so cute and I could do so much with it. As soon as it was in my hands I drew a creative blank. I couldn't think of a single thing to make with this set. But once I started playing with it, the ideas came flooding in.

This is one of the cards we made at Ladies Night Stamping Night Out. Who doesn't need a stash of birthday cards? I always need them. I love the colors in this card. It is hard to tell in the picture but I added Crystal Effects to the flame and sprinkles.

RECIPE: DSP-Bella Rosa; CS-Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White & Pirouette Pink; Stamp-Crazy for Cupcakes; Ink-Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Pirouette Pink, Whisper White & Riding Hood Red; Embellishments-Fire Circle Rhinestone Brads & Crystal Effects; and Punches-3/4" Circle.

Scarecrow Treat Pouch

As soon as I made the Pumpkin Treat pouch I wanted to make a scarecrow one. I couldn't wait to get started trying to create this little guy. I have to admit-I am very proud of this project. When I think of what my cards looked like a year ago versus now- what a huge difference. To be honest I never even would of attempted a project like this last year. I would of assumed it was too hard. Now I know that is not true. My six-year old made one of these as well and had so much fun creating it. If she can do it, anyone can.

We made this adorable pouch at Ladies Stamping Night Out. If you missed this fun event this time you can join us next time on February 7th!!

This is such a cute project. I have someone very special in mind to pass this on to. I know that she will love it and I can't wait to give it to her.

RECIPE: DSP-Bella Rose; CS-Tangerine Tango, Creamy Caramel, So Saffron, Pacific Blue, Basic Black, & Old Olive; Ink-Close to Cocoa & Really Rust; Punches-1 3/8" Circle, 1 1/4" Circle, 3/4" Circle, Round Tab, and 1 3/8" Square; Tools-White Gel Pen & Black Marker; Big Shot; and Dies- Birds & Blossoms Sizzlets & SU! Exclusive Top Note Die.

Pumpkin Treat Pouch

This was the 3-D project we made this month in Stamp Club. I have seen lots of Frankenstein versions of this project but I wanted to do something else. This is such a great gift! It would be cute to give out at Thanksgiving as well as Halloween. This project used punches and the Big Shot, still my favorite new toy. It was a lot of fun to create.

I know you can't see it but this is a candy pouch. There are two Top Note Die cuts attached to each side of a small box. You can tuck a small bag of candy between the notes into the box.

If you would like a pdf file with instructions on how I made this project please e-mail me and I will send them to you.

RECIPE: CS-Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, More Mustard, Basic Black, & Old Olive; Ink-Tangerine Tango; Punches-1 3/8" Circle, 1 1/4" Circle, 3/4" Circle, Round Tab, and Large Oval; Tools-Blender Pens; Big Shot; and Dies-Originalz Leaves #2 & SU! Exclusive Top Note Die.

Cracked Glass Leaves

October's Stamp Club's technique was "Cracked Glass". I enjoy this time of year with all the leaves changing colors. The time of year inspired this project. The intricate veins and lines on leaves are so beautiful. I wanted to imitate that look with the "Cracked Glass" technique. I had a great time making this project and I hope to play with this technique more in the future.

If you would like a pdf file with the instructions for this technique, e-mail me and I will send it to you!

RECIPE: CS-Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango; Ink-Chocolate Chip; Big Shot; Dies-Originalz Leaves #2; Embossing Powder-Glassy Glaze and Tools-Crop-a-Dile, Heat Gun.
